Running Water

Mindfulness Trigger for the Thursday after Ash Wednesday

One of the most frequent things we do each and every day is to wash our hands or to take a shower (bath). The Psalm response that we use today compares the one who places hope in the Lord to a tree, planted near running water. Each of us has been baptized with running water as we first entered our relationship with God. Every time we touch water today, let us remember that relationship and look at our Lenten pilgrimage as a way to strengthen it. "Like a tree planted near running water," may our love for God never fade.
