Adalgott joined the Cistercian Order and received a comprehensive education in theology, philosophy, and spiritual discipline under the guidance of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux. He became the abbot of Dissentis and later the Bishop of Chur, where he founded a hospital in 1150. His life was marked by his compassion for the sick and his commitment to justice and charity. Adalgott is venerated as a Roman Catholic saint, and his feast day is celebrated on October 3rd.
