Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Impart to your servants, we pray, O Lord, the gift of heavenly grace, that the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin may bring deeper peace to whose for whom the birth of her Son was the dawning of salvation. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Daily Thought from the Saints
You are asking for something that would be harmful to your salvation if you had it – so by not getting what you have asked, you are really getting what you want.
— St. Catherine Of Siena
Daily Scripture Verse
“For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the Gospel with the strength that comes from God.”
2 Timothy 1:7
Daily Meditation
“What really hurts is not so much suffering as the fear of suffering. If welcomed trustingly and peacefully, suffering makes us grow. It matures and trains us, purifies us, teaches us to love unselfishly, makes us poor in heart, humble, gentle, and compassionate toward our neighbor. Fear of suffering, on the other hand, hardens us in self-protective, defensive attitudes, and often leads us to make irrational choices with disastrous consequences.”
— Fr. Jacques Philippe
Day by Day with Mary
We should be filled with joy at the birth of Mary. Her womb was a most holy temple. There, God received his human nature and thus entered visibly into the world of men.

A Prayer from Notre Dame University
Rev. Bill Simmons, C.S.C.+
Lord Jesus, the angel assured the loyal and faithful Joseph that the mother-to-be and her child, placed in his loving care, are our salvation. We thank you for the gift of your Son, of Our Blessed Mother, and of Saint Joseph, her most chaste spouse. We ask only that we can share in some way the love, respect, and faith of the Holy Family. This we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.
