Feast of Michae, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels

God our Father, in a wonderful way you guide the work of the Angels and men. May those who serve you constantly in heaven keep our lives safe from all harm on earth. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

Daily Thought from The Saints

“Keep to the ancient way and custom of the church, established and confirmed by so many Saints under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. And live a new life. Pray, and get others to pray, that God did not abandon his church, but reform it as he pleases, as he sees best for us, and more to his honor and glory.”

— St. Angela Merici

Daily Scripture Verse

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has similarly been tested in every way, yet without sin. So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive Mercy and to find grace for timely help.”

Hebrews 4:14-16

Daily Meditation

“Once, while I was wondering why our Lord so dearly loves the virtue of humility, the thought suddenly struck me, without previous reflection, that it is because God is the supreme truth and humility is the truth, for it is most true that we have nothing good of ourselves but only misery and nothingness: whoever ignores this, lives a life of falsehood. They that realize this fact most deeply are the most pleasing to God, the supreme truth, for they walk in the truth.”

— St. Teresa Of Avila

Day by Day with Mary, the Mother of God

Fear not, Mary, you have found grace with God. As Christ was pleased to be comforted by an angel, so was it necessary that the Virgin should be encouraged by one.

St. Peter Chrysologus

A Prayer from Notre Dame University

Rev. M. Joseph Pedersen, C.S.C.

Lord God, you are glorified without ceasing by the choirs of angels. In the archangels, Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel, you provide us with shining examples of strength and fidelity. May the angels, messengers of your will, always guide and protect us on our journey of life, and may they always lead us to Jesus, the Son of Man and our Lord. We ask this in his name. Amen.
