30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Almighty ever-living God, increase our faith, hope, and charity, and make us love what you command, so that we May merit what you promise. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

Daily Thought from the Saints

"The goodness of God is the highest object of prayer, and it reaches down to our lowest need. It quickens our soul and gives it life, and makes it grow in grace and virtue."

— St. Julian of Norwich

Daily Scripture Verse

"For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to bring to light the knowledge of the glory of God on the face of [Jesus] Christ. But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us."

2 Corinthians 4:6-7

Daily Meditation

"Know this: just as the wood of the ark saved the just from drowning, so too, by the mystery of His wooden Cross, does Christ, the Church’s God and King, save us from drowning in the sea of this world. In the symbol of a thing made of wood He gave human beings a foreshadowing of both the judgment to come and the salvation of the just."

— St. Augustine

Day by day with Mary, the Mother of God

As the mother knows the needs better than the babe, so the Blessed mother understands our cries and worries and knows them better than we know ourselves. As the baby needs the doctor, so the Blessed mother knows we need her divine Son.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen

A Prayer from Notre Dame University

Rev. Matt Fase, C.S.C.

God of mercy and compassion, you justify the humble and humble the self-exalted. Look upon us poor sinners with the gaze of your love. Grant us the wisdom to recognize our sins. Convict our hearts so that we may seek true contrition. Fill us with a burning zeal for conversion, and bestow on us the grace to seek your forgiveness. O God, be merciful to me, a sinner! Amen.
