Memorial of St. Paul of the Cross
Father, you gave your priest St. Paul a special love for the cross of Christ. May his example inspire us to embrace our own Cross with courage. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
Blessed James of Strepar
All-Powerful God, you renewed the apostolic spirit in the gospel preaching of the Blessed James the bishop. Through his prayers may your Church ever receive an increase in faith and in holiness. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
Blessed Contardo Ferrini
Almighty God, you made Blessed Contardo admirable in combining knowledge and piety. Grant us, your servants to acknowledge you the true God and to love you above all things. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
Daily Thought from the Saints
"O my God, teach me to be generous, to serve you as you deserve to be served, to give without counting the cost, to fight without fear of being wounded, to work without seeking rest, and to spend myself without expecting any reward, but the knowledge that I am doing your holy will. Amen."
— St. Ignatius of Loyola
Daily Scripture Verse
"Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed against me, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of any one, says the Lord God; so turn, and live."
Ezekiel 18:31-32
Daily Meditation
"Whoever confesses his sins ... is already working with God. God indicts your sins; if you also indict them, you are joined with God. Man and sinner are, so to speak, two realities: when you hear 'man' - this is what God has made; when you hear 'sinner' - this is what man himself has made. Destroy what you have made, so that God may save what he has made ... When you begin to abhor what you have made, it is then that your good works are beginning, since you are accusing yourself of your evil works. The beginning of good works is the confession of evil works. You do the truth and come to the light."
— The Catechism of the Catholic Church

A Prayer from Notre Dame University
Rev. Herb Yost, C.S.C.
Father, creator of all, you are the center of all life. Everything in this world points to you and leads us to you. Today, we ask you for the grace to keep you at the center of our lives, to use you as the reference point of all our thoughts, words, and actions. Help us to get ourselves out of the center of attention, and put you there. In serving you, we hope to give our best selves to all whom we encounter this day. Amen.
