Saturday of the Twenty-first Week in Ordinary Time

Lord, free us from the dark night of death. That the light of resurrection dawn within our hearts to bring us to the radiance of eternal life. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns in unity with you and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

Daily Thought from The Saints

"Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul.”

— St. Teresa of Avila

Daily Scripture Verse

"For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead came also through a human being. For just as in Adam all die, so too in Christ shall all be brought to life, but each one in proper order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming, those who belong to Christ; then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and father. When he has destroyed every sovereignty and every power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death”

1 Corinthians 15:21-26

Daily Meditation

"I realize as never before that the Lord is gentle and merciful; he did not send me this heavy Cross until I could bear it. If he had sent it before, I am certain that it would have discouraged me… I desire nothing at all now except to love until I die of love. I am free, I am not afraid of anything, not even of what I used to dread most of all… A long illness which would make me a burden to the community. I am perfectly content to go on suffering in body and soul , if that would please God. I am not in the least afraid of living for a long time; I am ready to go on fighting.”

— St. Therese Of Lisieux

Daily Catholic Wisdom

Love is the soul of sacrifice… The more intense the love… The more intense the love, the less we think of a sacrifice involved to secure what we love.

—Venerable Fulton Sheen

Day by Day with Mary

to surrender all that we are, as we are, to the spirit of love in order that our lives may bear Christ into the world – that is what we shall be asked. Our lady has made this possible. Her fiat was for herself and for us, but if want God’s will to be completed in us as it is in her, we must echo her fiat.

A Prayer From Notre Dame University

Rev. Nicholas Ayo, C.S.C.

We believe, O Lord, that you are consummate fairness. You know all the circumstances in our lives, our strengths, and our weaknesses. We have been given the gift of life in our birth and the gift of your spiritual life in our baptism. Help us, we plead, to give back ourselves to you as you gave us of your very self in eternal life. Amen.
